Hui Kaiārahi ki Ōtakou

We kicked off 2026 in Ōtākou with our first quarterly hui, hosted by Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka - Te Rōpū Māori.

The first hui of the year is always an important one. It's our first real opportunity for whakawhanaungatanga in person with our kāhui tumuaki across Te Mana Ākonga - setting the rhythm and intention for the year ahead. Over the weekend, we focused on building our kaiārahi leadership kete. Our incredible executive delivered workshops covering:

- Collaboration & Networking 

- Creating safe spaces 

- Leadership & Service 

- Ambition, passion & preventing burnout 

- Tuakana/ Teina & Peer-learning relationships

So much of our mahi happens online and through screens, which makes a weekend like this even more special. Being able to pour into our Tumuaki, connect kanohi ki te kanohi, and uplift one another is what makes it all worth it.
